How?

How can people be bad on Deathtards. I have been leveling mine at the rate of a level a day for the last 4 days. It is so amazingly easy. There is no down time. You can hit like a truck and heal yourself. How do I see level 80 DKs doing 800 dps? HOW? I did 1300 on the Amphitheater of Anguish at level 75.

Is it the same thing that leveling Huntards suffer from? There is just no need to do anything spectacular? A Hunter can sent in his pet and autoshot and get to 80. A Deathknight can probably auto-attack his way to 80. Maybe that is why you see some Deathtards DPSing in Frost Presence.

I really don't get it. Sometimes I feel like I am dealing with the absolute dregs of videomanity. The ones who had to look at the controller while playing Nintendo and constantly fell in holes on Super Mario Bros.

The ones who had to sit next to the screen on Duck Hunt or be mercilessly mocked by the dog.

The ones who only try to jump kick in every fighting game. No other move is even considered.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

If you figure it out, let me know lol. A dk in our guild with bad gear [mix of sp/agility/def] and a less than perfect spec [unholy dual wield] was rolling 1500 dps upon hitting 80...

I tank 99.5% of the time, so on the occasion my DK does dps, I usually forget and leave frost presence on :P [yeah I know that's not what you meant]

I've talked to people like that, alot of them have a set belief, and they refuse to change it. I tell them that DKs don't use spell power, but they tell me they do because they have a spell book.

I call them the Creationists of Gaming.

I suspect it's becuase you can get up to about 1-1.5k on a DK by just rolling your face over the keyboard. They're one of those "easy to pick up, lifetime to master" classes, I reckon. Because they're so grossly overpowered for levelling, most people start a DK and just spanner through - get to endgame and don't realise they have no idea how to play the thing. It's a shame because a well-played DK is awesome.

Dk's may be easy to level, but they have rotations, they have such thing as rune management, their specs take some thinking, being melee class, you actually need some expertise in addition to hit (and oh yeah, a lot of new players have no idea how much hit rating they need), you actually cannot trust just reading tooltips with them, because some of the abilities are called spells (hell, one of the bottom tier unholy talents gives you 1% hit per point to your SPELLS).

I play with hunters sometimes that make me want to beat my head on a desk repeatedly. sometimes, they are really that bad, becasue of personal stupidity and total lack of desire to improve. And sometimes? they are just new to the game. yes, it happens.

Sometimes we forget that after playing or a while, we have all these resources bookmarks, all these people that we know and can ask questions, general knowledge of the game, so we take our better performance for granted.

SO whenever I see someone that is underperforming this terribly I make an assumption that they simply might not know any better, so i see i I can make a few suggestions in whisper.

so wait a minute? are you saying I shouldn't be gearing out my DK in leather spellpower / mp5 gear? But I look really good in it!

I think what you run into here is the people that don't want to bother to learn a class - they just want to get to 80 as fast as possible so they can start on the endgame, without realizing that learning the mechanics of your class is an important part of getting to 80 and helping you to be successful in the endgame.

Then there are a few that are just doing it to piss me off. I'm sure of that...really...

lol

A great DK story here:

that is some typical DK fail

I think mitigation scales a little drastically with content, so 1500 DPS @ 78 does not equate to 1500 DPS @ 80. But what would I know, Im horrible at DPS. I have never been under 4 digits, but yeah, I suck. . .
