Day Z Standalone

Hello there! Long time no post!

Well, I used to post at work, but unfortunately, there was something weird with the browser that caused it to show up in a giant block of text. Not good!

Then, the website got blocked. Dang it!

I am back! Well, I dont know how often I will post, but here is one about the Day Z standalone, which is currently in alpha and can be purchased on steam.

I have played a decent amount over the last few days, and so far, I like it better than the mod. Things are a bit more scarce, but it makes the items you find that much more important.

I have yet to be killed by another player as I generally avoid them as much as I can. I did group up with some folks from reddit, and ran around until I apparently died of starvation.  They must have patched the food and drink because I am not getting constantly spammed to eat and drink now.

I myself have died several times at the hands of zombies. If you have anything less than an axe, they are quite difficult to kill. I did finally get a fire axe, and I have not died since.

I have also killed two people I must confess. The first was a guy who was in the firehouse in Elektro searching a body. I was taking no chances and axed him some questions. Axed him. Axed. He asked "Why man????" over coms and I felt kind of bad.

The next guy I found running around actually asked for me to kill him for whatever reason. Maybe he did not care for his spawn point or something.

So far, I have been mostly hitting up small towns for supplies. I have plent of food and drink, and ever a med kit. Things are looking decent.

So far so good. Obviously, it is in alpha and has a lot of things they are going to need to iron out. Overall, it is a good start though.

Warhammer Online closing

Well, the end is apparently here. I got Warhammer Online when it was released. I played for a bit, but it was a bit to strenous on my old computer. I also was not happy with no Troll Slayer, which is by far my favorite class in the Warhammer Universe.

I even picked the game up again recently and gave it another try! I got a Trollslayer to around level 15 or so before setting the game down again.

When I first played the game, there were many servers and even queues to get into some of them. At the end, there were two servers. One for NA and one for EU. It fell far and fast.

The game wasnt bad, but it was not very good for casual players. The PvE was terrible. The PvP was good. At the end, the low level zones were a barren wasteland while everyone played on their high level characters.

I hope that they come out with an online Warhammer game some day that does everything that I would hope. I actually think a cooperative PC version of Warhammer Quest would be quite amazing and a lot of fun.

RIP Warhammer online.

The Ole Flipparoo

Yeah, I said fliparoo. Pretty sure that is not a real word. This post is actually in regards to how my wife and I have swapped roles in WoW more or less over the last several years. I don't mean that I was a tank turned healer and she did the opposite. I mean our play time in Azeroth as well as what we do when we play.

If you read many of my earliest blog posts, a lot of it was about the battle between my wife and I about me playing WoW. She thought that I should play less, I thought....no. I was in a raiding guild at the time during BC doing Kara, SSC, TK etc. She was not yet playing.

The first character I got her to start was a Hunter. She was more interested in keeping her pet happy with food than she was with pew pewing. I even wrote some "guides" on how to get your SO to play.

That Hunter went away as I believe it had been created on my account. I am not sure at the moment, and don't really want to go and dig it up. We got her an account somewhere near the start of WotLK. She created her first real character, Gurrtrude the Boomkin. She loved the Boomkin form and started leveling.

During Wrath, she was afraid of doing instances to start with. Then she started doing instances with our group of friends. We had a good amount of fun. She was still terrified of doing anything Raid related and also terrified of doing random dungeons because she had some bad experiences with douche nozzels calling her a noob and such. She even ended up leveling a Paladin to max level during Wrath. I never thought I would see her have one max level character, let alone two.

During Cataclysm, we continued playing with our regular group and she became more comfortable running stuff. She leveled Gurrtrude to max level, her Paladin to max level, another Druid to max level....I know lol, and then a Rogue towards the end of the expansion. As time was running out on Cata, they came out with Raid finder. Up to that point, the only raids we had really done were old raids for transmog gear, which resulted in a many week battle of my wife trying to get her Antlers from Blackwing Lair.

We decided we wanted to see about defeating Deathwing since it was the last boss of the expansion and used Raid Finder as the tool. What do you know, she loved it!

MoP came out, and we continued along. She ended up with 5 max level characters when I had two. She added a sixth, and I now have six as well. She has also raided a shit ton more than I have. By herself, in raid finder. Not only is she not shy about raiding any more, she speaks up when people are being asshats to others.

So, when we started, she hated WoW and I was a serious raider. Now, I casually do whatever, and she is the serious raider. That is a day that I never thought I would see. I am actually proud of her progress in WoW. She has graduated beyond noob.

Timeless Isle: Seriously....the epics are abundant

Just a reminder, if you are are looking to gear up some characters. There are tons of purples to be had. I decided to work on some of the island quests last night and ended up with a ton of upgrades. I got three cloth pieces that are going to my Warlock. Three upgrades on my warrior. Three upgrades on my Paladin, 4 upgrades for my Druid's Guardian set, two for my Resto Shaman, and two for my Monk. So by that count, that is 17 epic items in a couple of hours of play time. Get it while it is hot! I also got an awesome pet named Bonkers. It is a mini monkey or Hozen with spiked boxing gloves.

Timeless Isle and 90 number 6

Last night I got my Hunter to level 90 finally, and I also got to spend a nice amount of time on the Timeless Isle. Now is the time to get there and get things done. Rare spawns are shared, and there are tons of people out there killing stuff. I killed a couple of the world bosses out there and also a giant freaking shark as well as a pirate ship. There are a lot of decently fun things to do, and new stuff to see. I plan on playing some more when I get home. Also, it was practically raining epics. I think I got like 7 of them on the first day and my newly dinged hunter is in more than half epic gear.

Ding 90!

Got my monk to 90 last night, which is 90 number 5. My buddy got his 11th character to 90 last night lol I also did the weekly for the Hordebreaker title because it is apparently being removed with the next patch coming up. Jeeze that seemed to take forever. Next up. Leveling my Hunter from 88 to 90.

D3 Expansion Announced!

Diablo 3 has announced their next expansion, and it looks good! It will be called Reaper of Souls and the main boss looks to be a fallen Angel (I think from D2). There will be a new class (The Crusader) who will be a mid ranged melee class with a shield and one hander. It will apparently be similar to the Paladin class in D2. The level cap will be raised to 70. I am not incredibly happy about a cap raise, but hey, I deal with it in WoW. Paragon levels are going to be shared, and there will no longer be a cap on paragon levels. You will also get to allocate stat points based on your Paragon level. There will also be enchanting of gear and transmog. WOOT. Another favorite is that they will have smart loot. Loot has a greated chance to drop for the class you are actually playing, and the stats should be better too. They are looking to have less drops, but more useful drops. I for one, cannot wait as D3 has been mostly stale for me. You can check out the video on youtube!

The Adventures of Musashi and Splody

So, first of all, I am sorry for the format. For some reason, I am unable to write anything under the compose side and have to write everything on the HTML side. Sorry for the block of text. So, my wife and I have been leveling my Monk (Musashi) with her Mage (Splody). I am not sure how that name was even available for her, but it is awesome. Unfortunately, leveling is not very even considering that I get and extra 50 percent to quest and kill XP. Over the last two days, we have managed to go from 80 up to 84. I am currently aout 80 percent to 85 while she is just starting the level. We plan on doing Twilight Highlands tonight to make that final push into Pandaria content. I has been quite nice and very quick. I love having a leveling partner when I can. I have been playing in tank spec and my wife is in frost spec. I have a bunch of 85 characters to level, but my wife only has one other one that she does not seem incredibly keen to level, and that is her Rogue. I wonder what she will choose next. I am actually surprised that she has not really ever played much as a Warlock before. I imagine that she will make one, although she cant make a Pandaren Warlock if I remember correctly.

New WoW Expansion?

Apparently, Blizzard trademarked "The Dark Below", which I think will be the next WoW expansion. Perhaps this one is going to be another battle with the Old Gods and we need the help of the Titans to defeat them?

Leveling Up the Other Toons

With the news that they are going to be taking reputation requirements off of gear, moving old epics to justice points, and reducing the number of JP needed for blue items by 75 percent, I have decided to start leveling up some of my other characters. A few days back, I got my Shaman to level 90 and I am currently working on my Hunter. He is at 87 and I plan to level him with my friend's Druid. One of the few things that has held me back from really wanting to level other toons is the dumb ass reputation grind. I already did it on my Warrior. I dont want to do it on other characters just so that I can get gear. That is the reason why only two of my characters can even run LFR raids. Leveling the rest of my characters will also be nice to see what classes I really enjoy during this expansion. My Pandaren Monk is at level 80, and I will be waiting for my wife's mage to reach level 80 to level with her the rest of the way. She is at 72 or so currently. We have been slacking off on our Horde characters lately because unfortunately we only have one working computer until a bit later this week. The power supply burned out on my wife's computer, which caused the hard drive to go out. Unforunately, that meant that we had to buy a new HD and a new OS for her computer. And the fan went out on my graphics card, so I had to get a new one of those. When it rains, it fricking poors. I think that I may get into exploding some stuff on Diablo 3 soon as well. I like to play that game for a bit, then take a good amount of time off from it. It is fun for smashing stuff up, but it get quite frustrating when they dont come out with any new or exciting content....ever. So, that is what I have been up to for the most part.

BO2 Double XP weekend, and something clicked.

As the title says, this weekend will be double XP, so get in and play it if you have it and want to! I hope that I get to play a bit over the weekend. I still wish they would give you 24 hr XP tokens instead.

As the second part says, I guess playing quite a bit has helped with my aim. I have started using a couple of different SMGs and find that I am doing well with them. Instead of having 6 percent accuracy with them, I am at over 10 percent. It took a while, but I can now play as a rusher.

I even had a 55-19 game yesterday running around with the MP7. It feels good man.

Playing BO2 with a friend, and leveling up the Hordies

As the title says, I finally got my buddy Kev to play some Blackops with me again. Kev is a pretty good objective oriented player. We played Hardcore Domination, and he was one of the top guys for captures each game. I am more of a defender and often times stay back. If that is not working however, I will switch classes and get up in the mix.

We had a pretty decent run where I think we won more than we lost. My K/D ratio is up to 1.45 now and I had a couple of very decent games including a 27-2 game on carrier. I should probably change to at least one higher scorestreak, but I love the setup I have. UAV is awesome, care package is great when I am using Engineer, and the Sentry Gun is a beast in Hardcore game modes.

In WoW news, we have our little Goblins up above leve 20 and are now able to ride mounts. YAY. Walking sucks, and I remember when you didnt get your first mount until level 40 and it was a ton more expensive.

We ran two instances of Shadowfang keep yesterday. The first had a pair of douchenozzels, while the second one went awesomely. I am a Prot Warrior (of course). In the first instance, the Ret Paladin kept pulling entire rooms....as a fucking DPS. Apparently he did this because the healer told him we were taking too long. We vote kicked the Paladin only to find out that the Healer was a bigger douchebag. Unfotunately, we could not kick him out afterwards.

The second one went by very quickly and I even got a compliment on my tanking from the healer. Take that douche Druid!

Overall, we are enjoying our new characters.

Leveling Horde and the words I never thought I would hear.....

Last night, my wife and I decided to dust off a couple of low level Horde characters that we were leveling on Muradin. They were both Goblins, mine being a Warrior named Gurblebobble and hers being a Priest named Snookey....lol.

We got through the starting area, and our friend Kev also logged on to his low level Horde on the server. While he was catching up to our progress point, I asked my wife if she wanted to play a bit of PvP. She was a little bit hesitant, but said OK.

We got into an Arathi Basin, which we won and she was second in overall healing. And then the words I never thought I would hear...."That was actually pretty fun!"

WHA WHA WHAAAAA??????????

Yes, she enjoyed PvP that she wanted to queue up for another, so we did Warsong Gulch. We ended up winning that game as well, and she was second in healing.

She was actually a pretty awesome little pocket healer. I was running around as a prot warrior shield slamming the crap out of guys, and she was keeping me alive.

By the end of the evening, we got out toons to level 15, so we should be able to run some instances next time we log on.

Back to WoW

I have resubbed to WoW. Watching my wife play made me kinda want to play. Now I am enjoying it again. Yay for breaks!

I have been leveling my Shaman a bit (I was surprised by the nerfed Pandaria XP.....pleasantly surprised). He is 87 and currently just got to Kun Lai Summit.

I have also been doing some raids with my wife (who has become the more hardcore WoW player lol).

We finished the Klaxxi raid for the first time last night, and I got like three upgrades on my Druid. For some reason, I have gravitated towards healing in Raids because I dont really need to know what is going on. As a tank, I have to absolutely know the encounter. When I am healing, I can mostly just muddle through it.

Overall, I am glad to be back playing and look forwards to leveling some more toons to 90 (since I only have three and my wife has 5 WTF?).

In Black-Ops news, I have my K/D ration in BO2 above 1.4. That is the highest it has been in any of the CoD games for me. I have been getting better not only at aim, but anticipating where opponents are going to show up, which has really helped when I occasionally decided to run around with a SMG.

BO2 Double XP weekend

Apparently, this last weekend was a double XP weekend in BO2. I did not know about it until Saturday evening, as I was busy will real life stuff.

Overall, I ended up going from level 51 (prestige zero) to level 23 or so (prestige 1). There also must have been a ton of noobs playing over the weekend because I raised my K/D by a decent chunk.

My K/D started out at around 1.08 and finished at 1.22 after several very good games. I played HC Domination and mostly did my camping thing unless the map would not allow, then I ran around with an AR instead of the LMG. One thing I have noticed is that laser sight on the AR and LMG is awesome.

For the most part, I had a lot of fun playing, but there was one douche nozzel who decided that he didnt like me camping.....and he was on my own team. He talked shit and killed me three times, so he got kicked. I got two care packages in that game which had the dogs and Swarm in them.

I don't know why anyone cares how someone else plays. I camp for the most part, but still spend tome capturing points and defending flags.

The bad thing about HC is that people on your own team can grief you if they want. The good thing is that they get killed after a few times being a dick head.

I hope some of the noobs decide to stick around.

MW2: Two Nukes in an Evening

Last night, my sister and I played some MW2. She is getting much better by the way. She still has some 5-26 type games, but more often they are along the lines of 12-18 or 15-20, so moving on up. Even got a 5 kill streak!

As the title says, while we were playing last night, I got a pair of Nukes. I love getting a tactical nuke. Everyone goes fucking nuts. Especially the other team when you have been noob tubing the the entire time.

I got one on a map which I forget the name (one of the Favela type maps) where I managed to get the other team trapped in their spawn while I was in a chopper gunner. Great success! I had some dude really pissed off and wanting to play a 1v1 game. Who the fuck wants to play a 1v1 game? Not I!

I got the other one on my first game of the evening, which was quite fun. It was on terminal. I was propped up on top of the building near the stairs and the bookstore defending B and C. They managed to shoot down my chopper gunner after just three kills, but I managed to get 10 more kills to get my nuke.

I always tube. I can beat people in a gun battle, but I find it less fun. Two more nukes and I will get the acheivement for 10 Nukes which I believe give me the Nuke Emblem.

Paragon 60 and other misc. game stuff

Yesterday, I decided to play a bit of D3 and finally pushed up to Paragon 60. It was done almost entirely in Act 2 runs because I set to join random public groups and that is what they gave me. The grind is certainly much less tedious, and the mob density in the sewer areas of Act 2 are insane at some points. I love just whirlwinding across the screen destroying everything in my path. I still dont ever find anything worth a shit as far as drops go.

I have been playing a little bit of Marvel Heroes with my wife and friends. We created a supergroup and have been beating up bad guys on our way through the game. Our group yesterday consisted of Thing (me), Storm (Wifey), Daredevil, Cyclops, and Hawkeye. We tore through pretty much everything. I am at level 15 and everyone else is somewhere around 13 as of logging off last night.

In shooter news, I have been playing MW2, MW3, and BO2. I find that I like the game play in both of the MW games much better than I like the play in BO2. I feel like I can actually be accurate with weapons and not miss constantly. In MW2, I played TDM and DOM with my sister. I got a couple of chopper gunners, but no Nuke unfortunately. My sister had her best game ever going 17-20.

In MW3, I tried out some HC Domination and played my old favorite standbys..Drop Zone and Infected. On Drop Zone, I can often times single handedly help a team win with a score more than double of most of the other people playing.

I am looking forward to the next MW game, and I am hoping that I get a new character drop in Marvel Heroes soon. While I like Thing, I do not like Scarlet Witch as my second hero.

Master Prestige Reset

So, as I said previously, I made it to master prestige in BO2. Unfotunately I found it to be quite boring....so I reset all of my stats and prestiges ands started over again. I figured I would try for a higher K/D ratio etc.

So far, it has gone pretty well. My K/D ratio is at 1.17 so far (which I got it up to yesterday after starting out rather slowly at a 0.90 k/d ratio the day before. I was at 1.05 while in Master Prestige. It probably would have been higher, but I spent a bunch of time trying to gold SMGs and I was pretty terrible with them. Anywhere between a .60 and .79 with the.

I have also been playing a good amount of Hardcore Domination. I usually just sit back with a LMG and protect the points from a distance as well as I can. Some of the maps, I feel like I do terribly. The worst by far is Nuketown. I am really growing to hate that map. There are so many people there just randomly wall banging and shit. And then when I do have a good match there and we are just about to win, someone from my team runs in from on my line of fire, gets themselves killed, and I am the one to get booted. Hooray!!

I run with the LSAT as that is my favorite LMG ever. I also have a great love for engineer since I have been using carepackages. So many times already, I have turned an RC or a Hunter Killer Drone into a Drone Escort or a Chopper. Being able to switch your care package is awesome.

Marvel Heroes first Impressions

Last night I logged into Marvel Heroes for the first time. I decided to go with Thing as my starting hero. I ended up getting Scarlet Witch as my second random hero.....the one that I least wanted. But that is ok.

The game itself it quite a bit of fun. You get quests, and run around and smash bad guys. Most of the bosses are done in a group, but with enough patience, you can probably solo some of them as well. I ended up soloing "The Hood" last night when the rest of the group bailed before we even got to him.

I also got to play a bit with my friend Kev (who is playing Iron Man currently, but also got Cyclops and Colossus). It was good fun just running around and smashing bad guys. The only part so far that has been a frustration is that my inventory seems to fill up way too fast.

Thing is now level 11 and I will be getting around to buying the Hulk on Friday most likely.

Marvel Heroes out today!

For those of you who did not buy any kind of founders pack (myself included), today is the first day of Marvel Heroes!

It is a free to play ARPG much in line with Diablo. You can buy a hero with real money, or you can start with one of 5 free heroes which include Thing, Daredevil, Hawkeye, Storm, and the Scarlet Witch. You get a second random one of the 5 free heroes at the end of the tutorial.

I am planning on at least buying the Incredible Hulk.

I like that both heroes and costumes can drop for you, which makes it so that you dont really have to spend any money at all if you don't want to.

One of my friends bought the Iron Man back which comes with a bunch of costumes. I think another of my friends may end up getting Deadpool if he does in fact play the game. I think I may get my wife to play as well, even though she insists she wants to be Jarvis from the Iron Man movies. I told her she could just stand behind our friend playing Iron Man and make comments about his playing.

Anyways, its a free smash em up. I will be checking is out asap.

Warhammer Quest and more Blacklight

Warhammer Quest:

When I was about 12 or so, I got a game called Warhammer Quest. It was a fantasy game based in the Warhammer universe similar to Hero Quest. They discontinued making the game, but I have been able to play it with my wife and friends as an adult. Then something amazing happened.....they released Warhammer Quest for the Apple IoS. Having just gotten and Ipad, this was a must get. I must say that it is GLORIOUS.

It stays very true to the board game and you even get some quests in each small village. The game itself is 4.99, and it was released with an expansion for an additional 4.99. You can also buy three additional characters for 2.99 each I believe. The one that I will be purchasing today is the Trollslayer. I have long loved the Trollslayer as a character and lore wise. They are basically a Dwarf who was shamed for one reason or another, who decides that the only way to redeem themselves is through an honorable death. They tatoo themselves, and make their hair into huge orange mohawks. They do not wear any armor, and wade into the thickest part of battle with the baddest monster they can find. Even though they seek death, they still fight to win. They will only be slain by the most badass of enemies.

If you love Warhammer, give the game a shot. You start with a Marauder, Dwarf Ironbreaker, Elf Ranger, and Grey Wizard. You can purchase the Trollslayer, Warrior Priest, and Archmage as additional characters.

Blacklight:

As the title of the thread implies, I have been playing a decent amount of blacklight, and I have my K/D ratio just about back at 1.0 after a rather slow start while getting used to things.

If you like shooters, this one is a ton of fun. It runs well on my not so top of the line computer and has a lot of fun game modes.

I personally like the one called something like "Netcode"....it is something with Net, but I forget which. You basically have to go capture points and hold them, while trying to grab a flag and bring them back to the base that you are currently holding. Think Eye of the Storm in WoW, only you lose a base over time if you do not have someone there.

You can either purchase items with Zen, which I believe you purchase with real money, or you can gain gp, which you get by playing. So far, I have permanently purchaed and upgraded chest armor and got a seven day rental on a cool SMG.

I just need to look at some of the other controls. I have been doing pretty well winging it, but I still dont even know how to crouch or prone. I also need to figure out how to put attachments on my armor as I have two open slots and no idea what to do with them.

Between the two of these, I have been having quite a lot of fun.

World of Warcraft:

I am not currently subscribed, but my wife still is. She just got her Trycerratops mount. I may end up resubbing to WoW, just so she has someone to play with. Who would have thought a few years back that my wife would be the last man standing in WoW?

Blacklight and Master Prestige.

So, I gave Blacklight a shot last night after finally letting it patch all the way. It was quite a bit of fun and looked/played very well, especially for being a free to play shooter.

In my very first game, I was top score which I found to be hilarious. The second map did not turn out as well as I got killed by several snipers and some guys who ended up in a big robot suit.

I had a lot of fun in those two games and plan on playing again soon.

In other news, I got to Master Prestige in BO2. It took quite a long time, but it is finally done. This is the first time I have ever made it to a top prestige in any CoD game.

If you have not tried out Blacklight, give it a shot. It is free and you can download it off of steam.

Marvel Heroes

Unfortunately, I have not gotten into the Beta for this, but the one person who I know that has, says it is freaking awesome.

He said that it is basically like D3 meets Superheroes which sorta meets LoL.

The game play is like Diablo. Only with superheroes.

It is actually a free to play game, but you have to buy additional characters/costumes if you want them.

I don't know who you start with, but when i try out the game, the first name on my list will be The Incredible Hulk.

If you get a chance, check out the gameplay trailers and maybe even sign up on their site.

The Diablo 3 changes are fun!

I got a chance to play a bit of D3 over the weekend, and had a very good time running public games.

For starters, you get and extra 10 percent XP and MF for each other player in the game up to 30 percent. Also, because it was the one year anniversary of D3, you get an additional 25 percent boost until tomorrow!

The first incredible addition is that they actually added monsters to the other acts. I ran Act 1 a few times and there are now GOBS of monsters. Each run netted me about 4-5 bars of XP. I went from Paragon 55 to nearly Paragon 57 in just about 3-4 runs.

I also grabbed a couple of Legendaries. They were not very good, but it is nice to see that shiny orange stream of light.

Another nice addition is the Tome of Cain that lets you identify all of your rare's in one shot instead of constantly clicking each one to ID it.

Overall, it think it was a pretty good patch.

Warhammer Online

Hs anyone out ther played Warhammer Online recently? It is pretty dead. And by pretty dead, I mean that they only have one NA server and one EU server going.

There is not much of anything going on at the lower levels. There seems to still be some PvP at the top levels, but jeeze. This game was supposed to be a WoW Killer, and now it is just about done.

The reason I bring this up is two fold. I cancelled my WoW subscription being the first. I was not playing it and saw no reason to continue to pay if I would not play. Second is that I resubbed to Warhammer Online to give it another shot (mainly because I love the Warhammer universe, and especially Trollslayers).

So far, I have a Troll Slayer up to level 15, renown 10 thanks to some potion that auto levels you to that point.

I will give it close to two weeks to see if it is worth actually paying for, then decide if I want to continue.

I really have game ADD right now and am in desperate need of something fun to play. About the most fun I have been having recently involves FPS games.

Neverwinter

I did not know about Neverwinter. I am not incredibly in touch with games that are coming out, so I did not realize that this was a thing. I love D&D and really enjoyed the single player RPGs like Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate etc.

So far, Neverwinter is pretty fun. The crafting is a bit confusing to me so far, but I imagine that I will get it eventually. What I find fun is the combat. It is a lot more active than just standing in one place and clicking. You have to time blocks, dodges, etc. It is kind of a mix between WoW combat and Diablo combat.

The quests are pretty standard much like any MMO, but the coolest feature in this game is the Foundry. Basically, you get to do quests that were created by other players and give them a review on their quest. I cannot make one yet as I am only level 12 (it requires level 15 to create foundry quests), but it will be something that I certainly give a try.

There seems to be a decent selection of classes and races to choose from with a chance to expand later on.

Overall, it is a nice bit of fun for being a free MMO. I did not feel at all hampered by not having a pay account, which is good.

Give it a shot if you are bored with your other MMOs. It should at least keep you entertained for a little bit.

Holy Sporadic Posting Batman!!!!

I have been incredibly busy in real life, and in the meantime, have not had a lot of opportunities for games.

The one game I have played almost none of is WoW. I dont know why, but I just cant bring myself to log on for anything more than reposting auctions before 30 days in the mailbox is up. Maybe one of these days I will just feel the need to level some more toons, but currently, I am spending my play time elsewhere.

I have cooled off on Diablo a bit until the newest patch comes out (which I think will be today if what I am reading is correct).

In the meantime, I have been playing a decent chunk of Black Ops 2 by myself.

I have also been playing MW 2 and Torchlight 2 with my sister, which is always fun. My sister is certainly getting better at MW2 after several games where she was like 1-15 or 0-13. Still not a 1 KD player yet, but she is getting there.

I have not been keeping up on gaming news all that much being so busy, so I dont really even know what will be coming out.

I had a previous comment asking me if I will be playing Neverwinter. I am assuming that this will be a Neverwinter MMO, in which case the answer is....maybe? I really enjoyed the NWN games on the PC and would enjoy a world based on it, but I dont know if an MMO could capture the feeling that the stories in those games generate. It would be like trying to do a Baldur's Gate MMO. Speaking of Baldur's Gate, I heard that they were going to redo the game with updated graphics. That would be something to play. I would be even happier if they decided to do it with Planescape: Torment.

In other life stuff, I have finished the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series and really enjoyed it. I have also been watching the GoT show each week and loving every minute of it. My wife and friends are all non readers, so they get to be shocked just like I was when some of the crazy stuff goes down. I have also been watching a new Sci Fi series called Defiance. It is pretty decent overall, but a bit cheesy.

Anyways, what have the rest of you been up to in the meantime?

My Gaming Time

My gaming time recently has not had anything to do with World of Warcraft. My wife got her 10th skyshard and I helped her kill the dragon yesterday for her mount, but other than that, there has been no WoW for about two weeks.

In the meantime, I have been playing a couple of different games.

I am back playing D3, and mostly enjoying it. I like being able to do MP on public games. I have even sold a couple of million gold worth of items on the AH. The game is still in need of some kind of new features. I am paragon 54 now, which is higher than I was about a week ago.

I picked up Torchlight 2 on sale the other day as well. I am enjoying playing around on that game and look forward to seeing what it is ultimately all about.

One other game I have considered getting due to my friends having it is X-Com. It is a cool looking remake of the original and was very fun in the short time I played it.

Hello There?

It has been quite some time since I posted. I have mostly been busy with several things in real life and have just not really been motivated to write anything. WoW has been mostly dailies. I have played some D3 multiplayer since you can now do Monster Power on random public games. I have also still been playing Black Ops.

Outside of gaming, I have been reading the Game of Thrones series of books and am currently on number four. This series is really outstanding, and I cant wait to read each book. The only sad part is that I will have to wait for the final two to come out. The third book was the best by far in my opinion, and I cannot wait to watch the third season when it comes out.

What have you all been up to in the wide world of gaming?

Brawler's Pub

I have had a Brawler's Pub membership in WoW since it came out pretty much. I beat the first fight and lost the second fight several times then stopped doing it.

When my wife was bored, she would go down to the Brawler's Pub and watch everyone fight. She would also be nice enough to rez the people who fell in battle. Last night she decided to buy an invitation.

We spent a couple of hours taking on bosses. We are both rank two currently and on the Aarakoa boss. My wife died quickly in both of her attempts to tornadoes. I almost got him on my first try, but still ended up dying.

The funny thing is that we had a ton of fun. My wife is doing it to eventually get the pet. I am doing it for mostly the same reason.

We grouped up with a couple of other people from other realms, cheered each other on, rezzed each other when we died, and buffed each other up. It is that kind of team work that I have missed in the pugs of the last couple of years. I even got an achivement for /cheering at someone who won a match.

If you have decent gear and want to try something a little different, the Brawler's Pub may just be that thing.

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Well hello there!

I have not been doing a lot of posting lately. Not because I have not been playing video games. I just have not really felt much like writing anything. I have however been fairly busy in video games.

In WoW, we have gotten a decent amount of stuff done. We have done Sha of Anger several times (my wife is the new raid master apparently), a few Heroics, and some leveling. We have a couple of our characters up to 89 and we have out Monks just about ready for Cata content.

We have also been running the holliday boss daily without even sniffing a mount. My wife however has gotten several of the toxic wastelings.

Last night we did something fun and unexpected. We went to Ulduar. It was a lot of fun and we piled up a ton of achievments. I got a pair of shoulders, a shield, and the mace that looks like a planet for transmog purposes. We didnt get started until a bit later, so we stopped after Mimiron and will take on Yogg and the other boss probably tonight.

Not being incredibly familiar with Ulduar, we ended up killing Algalon 4th out of all of the bosses or something like that.

I really enjoy running these raids for extra achievements. I got to over 9000 achievement points last night, but did not get that "Over 9000 achievement". I wonder if they took it out or turned it to a feat of strength for people who got it a while back.

I have also been playing a lot of BO2 and leveling up some of assault rifles to try and get gold on them. I am very close to getting gold on the Scorpion SMG and the Kap pistol as well.

What have you been up to in your gaming worlds?

New Diablo 3 Patch

Last night I had planned on playing a bit of D3, but changed my mind and played BO2 instead. The patch has a decent number of changes, added dueling (brawling), and made crafting better for getting yourself upgrades. That said, it is not a GREAT patch.....unless you are a Monk who got buffed out the wazoo. Here are the notes.
