Know your role.....

AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH as the Rock would say. I have noticed that there is sometimes comments from the peanut gallery when it comes to pugs. People who have never played a specific role and commenting on how you or someone else is doing it.

Most commonly this happens as a healer or tank. Mostly healer though.

As a healer, I always try to heal everyone. Generally even if they are being a douche. Same thing with tanking. I don't make myself look bad just to prove a point, but sometimes it is funny to do so.

I have a WoW friend called Moparman. He is a mage. He has tried a bit of tanking, but he is completely beyond noob. He didn't know to tank in frost presence. He doesnt know rotations or even spec to be honest.

He does things sometimes just to give you shit. Once while I was tanking (we were on vent) he said, "Damn this tank can't tank for shit". To which I replied with a click from group ;P

Just yesterday, we were running Heroic Occulus. On his mage, he was standing in near melee range and getting hit by a blizzard. I politely said "Get out of the fucking blizzard, you arent melee!" He said "Yeah, but you will heal me." Of course I told him that he was going to die next time.

He has obviously never played a healer. Someone who hasnt played a healer or tank, can't always fully grasp the importance of that role and even concepts as building aggro or mana conservation. They just go balls out and hope that it all end up ok.

Quit being fucking wankers. You should try every role in the game so that you (as the Onyxia Wipe guy would say) "Know what the fuck to do". Learn other roles and it will make you a much better and aware player. You will also cease to look like such a dickface. The end.

Amen.

Have a mage friend (funny how it's mages) that really rethought how he played when he rolled a tank.

Personally, I'm working on my healer and terrified of tanking. I don't want their jobs to be any harder than it has to be.

Now I am glad that I have too many alts. The old "Walk a mile in my shoes..." Sometimes I do move a bit slow when tanking. Maybe a bit over cautious. I do my best to keep aggro and try to keep an eye on the healer. Had an add get past me the other day who started to beat on the healer (Tree Aggro). The DPS were just standing around probably comparing their Recount numbers. I was the only one to help her out. Hopefully the PUGs will get better...

Ive noticed that, especially as a healer I often get "STFU noob know your role" because I will ask a DPS to watch their aggro. Mopar is particular bad when it comes to aggro and I don't think he cares because hes trying to out dps everyone. I often times would hear him in vent bitching about the healer not healing him, but I figured out why. Its not that the healer sucks, its Mopar, and heals letting him die on purpose.

I find after playing a healer and also now a tank with my 60 warrior, its hard to go to dps because its hard to control a situation in that role and I like to have more control, especially when the dps is meter happy.

By the way Darr...either tell Mopar what to do to tank and how to gear or stop telling him that im wrong and a retard for telling him not to tank!!!!!!

1) He can look up everything he needs to know about DK tanking.

2) If he wants to tank, that is up to him. That is like him telling you not to heal.

I understand its like him telling me not to heal but if he is going to tank, research it instead of bitching about people not wanting to group with him. He needs to do what ive said already. Boo

Atleast I didnt have any shame to look up/ask for advice for healing :o)

I think that Mopar's problem is that it takes him quite a while to "get it". It took him a while to become a respectable DPS. It will probably take longer to make him a tank.
